This Workshop on Network Technology is held from 25 to 30 May 2014, in conjunction with the African Internet Summit, from 1 June to 6 June 2014.
The venue for the workshop is the Palais du Peuple in Djibouti, Djibouti.
The workshop aims to offer advanced training to operators of existing African Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who are participants in the process of developing and enhancing a national Internet with regional and international connectivity.
This workshop builds upon the experiences of the previous AfNOG workshops held in Cape Town (South Africa) in 2000, Accra (Ghana) in 2001, Lomé (Togo) in 2002, Kampala (Uganda) in 2003, Dakar (Sénégal) in 2004, Maputo (Moçambique) in 2005, Nairobi (Kenya) in 2006, Abuja (Nigeria) in 2007, Rabat (Morocco) in 2008, Cairo (Egypt) in 2009, Kigali (Rwanda) in 2010, Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) in 2011, Serrekunda (Gambia) in 2012, Lusaka (Zambia) in 2013, and the Internet Society's INET workshops held from 1993 to 2000 at eight locations around the world.

The goals of the Workshop are:
An intensive program of instruction is planned for the workshop, composed of three instructional tracks in English, and one in French. Participants attend only one of the tracks, since the tracks run concurrently. All participants will engage in extensive hands-on training, setting up and managing prototype infrastructure and services.
