Basic Installation Steps

• Setup CPU and operating System

• Install desired hardware based on application intended

• Download asterisk from www.asteriskpbx.org

• Compile and install with “Make”

• Load Appropriate drivers [None is needed for IP or soft phone]

  • Configure modules.conf
  • Configure either sip.conf or iax.conf
  • Configure extensions.conf

• Start Asterisk

• Make calls!
