BGP versus OSPF/ISIS
Internal Routing Protocols (IGPs)
- examples are ISIS and OSPF
- used for carrying infrastructure addresses
- NOT used for carrying Internet prefixes or customer prefixes
- design goal is to minimise number of prefixes in IGP to aid scalability and rapid convergence
