• Wildcard bits indicate how to check corresponding address bit

  • 0=check or match
  • 1=ignore

• Matching Any IP Address

  0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255
  
  or abbreviate the expression using the keyword any

• Matching a specific host

  81.199.108.8 0.0.0.0
  
  or abbreviate the wildcard using the IP address preceded by the keyword host
